A pup can spin a few circles and curl up in the Nest Bed, feeling cozy and secure inside its plush walls. The outer walls and removable center pillow of the Nest beds are made of faux suede with a tough 420 denier nylon pack cloth base.

They unzip to access an inner bolster and cushion made of ripstop nylon. The bolster and cushion are filled with SmartFill, Big Shrimpy's washable and dryable recycled polyester filling. Because of this, Big Shrimpy beds can be completely deconstructed, washed, dried and rebuilt allowing the customer to refresh the bed entirely. Although the inner cushion is odor and water-resistant, it can be unzipped to remove and wash/dry the SmartFill if necessary.

All the components of the Nest Bed are machine washable and dry able, including the outer cover and inner cushions. These design features extend the life of the bed. Outer Covers and Inner Cushions can be purchased separately, allowing a pet owner to simply replace components when needed instead of discarding the entire bed.

Big Shrimpy beds filled with SmartFill remain a sensible and practical solution for customers interested in "green" products. SmartFill is a clean polyester fiber that is diverted from a waste stream and used in Big Shrimpy beds without having to reprocess it.

Other "recycled" fibers have gone through many high-energy processes to melt the waste material, "pelletize" it, transport it to a factory and then reform it into a new material. This high use of energy, and thus large carbon footprint, is avoided with SmartFill.

It is truly green, as it goes from a clean waste stream directly into our beds. SmartFill consists of individual tufts of fiber, rather than thousands of intertwined fibers, so it can be washed and dried without creating a twisted and knotted mess.
